Has your audience dropped recently on Instagram and would you like to know who is unfollowing your account? Well, it’s possible! Generally speaking, you can proceed in two different ways to find out. On the one hand, there is the manual method and on the other hand, the method of using an application or a third party website. So that you can choose the verification method that will suit you best, we decided to present them both to you.
Manual method: How to know that a user is no longer following you on Instagram?
The manual verification method is one of the safest, but also the most popular, ways you can use to find out who has unsubscribed from your Instagram account. It mainly involves checking the profile of the suspected user to see if you are still part of their subscription list. Here’s how you should go about this method.
Step 1: Access the suspected user’s Instagram profile
To find out who is unfollow from your Instagram account, you first need to go to the profile of the user whose subscription status you want to check. Don’t know how to do this?
Simple, open Instagram and once the home page is open, click on the “Search” icon. It is a magnifying glass icon. This can be found in the bottom menu bar on mobile.
But on computer, you will find it instead in the top section of the official site.
This is where you need to fill in the name of the user concerned. Do so, and then launch your search.
On the other hand, if you perform the search from your mobile device, you should now see a new page appear. Tap the “Search” field to insert the name of the user you suspect has stopped following you.
Then browse the results that are automatically offered to you and click on their name as soon as you find them to access their profile.
Step 2: Check their subscription list
Once you are logged into the profile of the user you suspect has unsubscribed from your account, click on “Subscriptions” to display the list of people they follow.
If your profile does not appear at the very top of this list, then this means they have unsubscribed from your account. As soon as you are sure about the subscription status of this user to your Instagram account, you can move on to the next one.
But this method has its limits. For example, you’ll have a hard time using it to find out if all the users you follow are still subscribed to your profile. Indeed, there is no doubt that it would take you too much time especially if you have a very large number of followers.
The good news is that there is another method much simpler and less time consuming that will allow you to lift the veil on all the followers who no longer follow you in one go and in only a few clicks. This one mainly consists in using third-party applications.
Instagram: How to use FollowMeter to know who unsubscribes?
To know who unsubscribes from your Instagram account, you can use an infinite number of third-party applications. But finding the ones that really work remains a most arduous undertaking since the social network has taken strict measures in its API for privacy reasons.
Indeed, these measures generally limit the operation of said applications which essentially rely on the API of the famous social platform. For this reason, many applications designed for this purpose are no longer able to show people who have unsubscribed from an Instagram account.
Fortunately, there are still some third-party applications that continue to work and are available in the “Play Store” and/or the “Store“. Among these are FollowMeter and Followers & Unfollowers.
Even though both of these apps are known for their tremendous ability to adapt to Instagram’s API, this tutorial will only focus on FollowMeter because of its great accessibility. Indeed, this application is available on both iOS and Android. As a result, you won’t have any trouble downloading it and using it to see who unsubscribes from your Instagram account. Here are the steps you need to take to get there.
Step 1: Install FollowMeter on your smartphone
To use FollowMeter, you must first install it on your smart device. Whether you are using a device running iOS or Android, you will find it in your application store. So open it and type “FollowMeter” in its search bar to proceed with its installation.
Step 2: Connect to Instagram from FollowMeter
Once this is complete, launch the app. You will then be asked to authenticate yourself on the social network Instagram. Note that you must do this via FollowMeter so that it can access some of your profile data. Insert your username (phone number, email address, username) and password, then click on “Login“.
Step 3: Know who is unfollow from your Instagram profile
After passing the authentication phase, you will come across a dashboard. There you will find information about users who do not follow you, new followers as well as those you do not follow.
To find out who unsubscribes from your Instagram account, click on the “Unfollowers” feature.
On the new page that will appear on the screen, you will find all of the people who have unsubscribed from your profile.
On the other hand, if you don’t find any username or profile on this page, it means that you haven’t lost any subscriber since you logged in to Instagram via the FollowMeter application.
Several other features, including paid ones, are also offered there. However, you will have to pay some fees to take advantage of them.
Don’t hesitate to browse through all the options available in the application, as some of them could turn out to be very interesting for you later on.
