It has been a while now that the Outlook e-mail service allows its users around the world to plan their e-mail exchanges. Indeed, first available on the desktop version, this feature was later deployed on the Web version of the e-mail service. Would you like to take advantage of it too, but you don’t know how? We’ll show you, with screenshots, how to schedule an email on Outlook Web with ease.

Step 1: Connect to Outlook Office

The first thing you need to do to schedule an email on Outlook Web is to connect to the platform. You can easily use your usual web browser (Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Mozilla, Safari, etc.) to authenticate yourself. The most important thing is that it suits you.

Once you have made your choice, open your browser and enter the link outlook.office.com in its address bar to directly access the authentication page of the professional messaging service.

As soon as the page is displayed, first fill in your identifier (e-mail address, user name, etc.), then your password. Then, press the “Enter” key on your keyboard or log in to access your mailbox.

Step 2: Prepare your new mail

Now that you are connected to the web version of Outlook, you can move on to the next step. This step consists mainly of writing the mail that you want to send.

To do this, you simply need to proceed as if you wanted to send an instant mail. Therefore click on “New mail” at the top left of the Outlook interface.

Step 3: Schedule the mail to be sent

This step is the last, but also the simplest of all. Because this is where you will schedule the sending of your mail. Specifically, you will have to define the date and time of sending your mail. The mail will reach the recipient at the chosen time whether or not you are connected to your Outlook email.

To do this, after writing your message and specifying its subject and recipient, click on the small arrow in front of the “Send” icon in the lower section of the pop-up window.

Then choose from the two functions offered, the one at the bottom, i.e. “Send later“.

In the small window that has just appeared above the current one, you will find by default proposals for date and time. If one of them suits you, click on it, then on “Send ” at the bottom.

Note that your message will be sent to its recipient even if you are not connected to your email at the date and time chosen.

How to modify an already scheduled mail ?

You are missing an attachment, an information… to your scheduled message and you would like to make some changes ? It is possible! But to do so, you have to go to the “Drafts” folder of Outlook.

Indeed, by clicking on the scheduled mail, you will not only be able to change the schedule, but also to make changes to the content (add an attachment, modify the message, the subject, etc.) of the e-mail.

But you should know that this is only possible as long as the initial sending time of the mail is not exceeded; in other words, as long as it is in the “Drafts” folder. If this is no longer the case, you will have to think about writing a new letter, because the one you want to modify has already been sent. You will find it in the folder “Sent items“.

To edit a mail that has already been scheduled, first click on the little pencil on the right tab of the mail.
